After the PGL Major in Krakow, the rumor broke that it would be the last of the year. Now those rumors have been proven to be true! The next Major, the 12th in the history of CS:GO, will take place in January in North America. The ELEAGUE will be the main sponsor and a prize bag of one million dollars will be distributed among the teams.
The group stage will be played January 19-22 at the ELEAGUE Arena in Atlanta, while the final phase will be played January 26-28 at the Agganis Arena in Boston. It is a fantastic pavilion with a capacity of 7,200 spectators on the campus of Boston University.
The tournament will have 16 participants. Eight of whom will classify by the Legend Status acquired in the last Major. What is the Legend Status? It consists of a title that is awarded to all players who pass the group stage of a Major. If three or more of these players continue together, they will receive an invitation to the next Major. Whenever a player leaves the squad, the team loses the Legend Status. If fewer than three players with Legend Status remain together, one more place will be added to the qualifier.
In this tournament, the ELEAGUE continues listing Immortals with the status of legends. Although the Brazilians only have at present two players that arrived at the end of Krakow. This situation will force the club to play to place in the Minor of America.

The eight teams that failed to qualify for the finals of the past Major will receive an invitation to compete in the main qualifier. The main qualifiers will be held from January 12 to 15 in Atlanta.

The road to the Boston Major starts October 9 with online Minor Qualifiers in all regions except Asia. In the Asian region, all of their teams will receive a direct invitation to the Minor.

This will be the second time that ELEAGUE has sponsored a Counter-Strike Major. The first was the Atlanta 2017.
