Home I All Guides I DFS Guides I DFS I Daily Fantasy Premier League Lineup – September 10
Following the international break, the EPL returns with a bang this weekend. An intriguing slate of fixtures has left Daily Fantasy Premier League managers across the globe scratching their head as to who to include in their draft. Not to worry: we’ve done the hard work for you! Check out our daily fantasy premier league lineup for the weekend.
Your shot stopper is one of the key ingredients of your team as he has two avenues to score points: the ‘goalkeeper win’, which brings home 5pts, and the clean sheet bonus, also 5pts for keepers.
The best option this week appears to be Tottenham’s Michel Vorm. He has a reliable defence in front of him (just two goals conceded in three games), and this week the Spurs take on a Stoke City side who are very much in the doldrums at the moment.
Stoke City is at the bottom of the league, tied for the worst defence, and now their goalkeeper is out with a long term injury. Things are going from bad to worse for Stoke boss, Mark Hughes. His side has also recorded the lowest number of shots on target so far (a paltry five in three games). So Vorm could well have a quiet afternoon. We’d expect him to pick up 10pts at the bare minimum.
*PLEASE NOTE – Tottenham’s usual keeper, Hugo Lloris, has returned to training after an injury. Keep your eyes peeled for the latest news. If the suggestion is that he may be picked here, then swap Vorm for Tom Heaton (Burnley).*
From a defensive perspective we can repeat much of what we had written for Vorm for Danny Rose, the Spurs left back. He will surely cash some big points for a clean sheet here.
But in an attacking sense, Rose likes to become active too. He has already scored this season and ventures forward at any available opportunity; keeping those cross and assist points coming. He’s even fouled on average 2.70 times per match – each of which is worth an extra 1pt.
It’s no wonder that the England man averages a fantastic 11.5 FPPG.
Every Daily Fantasy Premier League manager knows that in some drafts, they have to pick a ‘goober’ to help balance the books, and James «Ginger Pele» Collins is our goober for gameweek 4.
That’s not to say he’s a senseless selection; far from it. He has already scored once this season, and his height and aerial power makes him a threat from set pieces.
Defensively his draft makes sense too: his club, West Ham, has kept a clean sheet this season, and in the two games they have conceded, it was against no less a foe than Manchester City and Chelsea.
Watford, the Hammers’ opponent this week, has attempted just 25 shots this season, the second lowest amount in the Premier League. As such, Collins could be a bargain sleeper.
A number of Liverpool players are nicely priced in this week’s draft -surprising really- given that their opponents, Leicester City, are yet to really get going this season, and perhaps the pick of the bunch is Adam Lallana.
He will be buzzing after netting England’s winner against Slovakia on Sunday, and he should form the heart of your daily fantasy football picks this week because he offers a little something of everything: he scores goals, creates them (one assist, 2.30 key passes per game so far), and gets his shots away (3.00 per game on average).
For $6,100 we’re getting a guy averaging 12.6 FPPG so far this season: Lallana is an absolute steal.
The Dutchman is yet to recapture the form that saw him net eleven goals and contribute five assists for Newcastle United last season, but the signs are there: he netted in midweek for Holland, has gone close a few times for Liverpool already this term, and it looks like a matter of time before ‘Gigi’ is back on the goal trail.
Don’t forget, he’ll have plenty of freedom here. This week’s opponents, Leicester City, lost their midfield kingpin, N’Golo Kante, in the summer, and they have yet to really source an adequate replacement.
A goalscoring midfielder for under $6,000? Yes please!
We’ve splurged a lot of our budget on the Spurs hitman, but as any DFS football manager knows, having at least one guy in your side who *almost* guarantees you a goal is key.
Stoke’s premier goalkeeper, Jack Butland, is out with a long term injury and will be replaced by Shay Given – a stopper who Kane beat twice last time they met in April.
With Stoke also yielding an average of 5.66 shots on target per game, surely Kane is able to break his season’s duck on Saturday.
West Brom isn’t everybody’s cup of tea as a team, but they continue to grind out decent results despite their unfashionable brand of football.
At the heart of their attack is Salomon Rondon, a player who could benefit the most from their average shot per game count of 12.33. He has already opened his account for the season and averages four shots per game; that ratio gives him a chance of scoring every time he takes to the field.
The Venezuelan has a habit of being smashed about a bit and he wins 1.30 fouls per game on average, so all in all he’s a steady points accumulator with an eye for goal.
Often backing the form horse makes sense, and as the Draft Kings Premier League top point scorer so far this season, we’re happy to welcome Snodgrass on board.
Eight shots on goal, five times fouled, five tackles won, four crosses, and one goal…that’s how the Scottish international has pocketed the 20.4 FPPG haul that has made him the EPL’s MVP thus far.
He scored a hat-trick midweek for Scotland and celebrated his 29th birthday – everything is golden for Snodgrass at the moment!
