Home I All Guides I DFS Guides I DFS I EPL Team of the Week 7
It was another good week for our picks last time out, with Hugo Lloris picking up points for his ‘goalkeeper win’ and Son Heung-Min (x2), Salomon Rondon, and Philippe Coutinho all getting on the scoresheet. Let’s see if we can bring a similar level of magic to your cash games or tournaments this time around with our DFS EPL Team of the Week 7 draft.
So just why is this it that these eight names are featured in our DFS EPL Team of the Week 7?
Ben Foster is the first player in our EPL Team of the Week 7. The West Brom shot stopper has averaged 7.8 FPPG this term; more than higher priced alternatives such as Thibaut Courtois, Adrian, and Heurelho Gomes. He is a no-brainer of a pick this week.
The Baggies have conceded just six goals this season. That’s less than Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United. They’ve also kept clean sheets in 33% of their outings. Foster may also deliver a ‘goalkeeper win’ bonus given that his side travels to take on a beleaguered Sunderland on Saturday.
The West Brom defender has been another reliable points grabber for DFS managers this term, and has a happy knack of popping up with goals – he has notched 33 in his career to date, exceptional for a defender. This gives those who draft him another angle for points.
His return of 6.3 FPPG far outweighs the dent put in your salary cap. There is even the off chance of a clean sheet bonus here: Sunderland, barring Jermain Defoe, are not blessed with natural goalscorers.
He’s quite expensive for a defender, but there are multiple reasons why we like Jose Holebas this week.
So far this season he has netted once, averaged 1.80 shots per game, and made 2.00 tackles, 1.30 interceptions and 0.70 crosses per 90 minutes.
Basically, he offers the full package – plus the potential for a clean sheet against a Bournemouth outfit that has failed to score in two-thirds of their matches.
A return to our DFS Premier League Team of the Week for Nacer Chadli, who performed so well for us last time out when he netted twice against West Ham.
Averaging 15.5 FPPG, the Belgian is criminally underpriced and will provide a real handful for the Sunderland defenders on Saturday. Expect him to find the net and/or assist Salomon Rondon at the very least.
Lots and lots of crosses…that’s what you get with Stewart Downing, and with such a small slate like this one, he could really become an MVP for DFS managers.
He has already assisted two goals this term, and averages a fantastic 2.50 crosses per game; those are easy points for daily fantasy managers, and with West Ham’s defence in disarray at the moment, the former England international will be looking to provide the ammunition for the likes of Alvaro Negredo and Jordan Rhodes to find the net.
A no brainer of a pick this week. Chelsea heads north to take on a Hull City side that has conceded nine goals in their last two games. Diego Costa will be rubbing his hands together with glee.
The Spaniard has netted five in six and created another. Moreover, he is averaging 3.00 shots per game and is fouled 3.50 times per 90 minutes – more easy points.
Another who is now a third-timer in our DFS Premier League Team of the Week is Salomon Rondon. The West Brom marksman has notched three goals in five Premier League starts.
The Venezuelan fires an average of 2.80 shots at goal per game -hence his decent return- is a physical presence that gets fouled a lot, and he even has the game to provide others with decent chances. Another Baggie who should benefit from Sunderland’s wretched form on Saturday.
An interesting proposition – and thus perfect for the utility role – is the Argentine, Roberto Pereyra.
Signed from Juventus in the summer, Pereyra has taken to the EPL with ease; scoring once and assisting two other goals in just three starts.
He takes up an advanced position in this Watford side with Etienne Capoue beside him and Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney in front of him. It is a team packed with potential and possibilities. Pereyra looks primed to pick up plenty of points against Bournemouth this week.
Make sure to pick up Roberto Pereyra for your EPL Team of the Week 7.
