The ESL is one of the largest organizations within eSports. It features 14 teams from North America and 14 teams from Europe. The matches started on the 22nd of August and have yet to disappoint. Those competing are fighting for more than one million dollars in prizes.
Last week’s competitions were among teams that didn’t play too many matches in the first few weeks of the ESL Pro League. Each team battled fiercely to rank within the top 6, since only those top 6 teams will qualify for the finals of this exceptional league. Now let’s take a look at the action that is coming your way from Europe.
Hellraisers have played 12 matches, the most matches among European teams. But they’ve racked up 9 losses and only 3 victories.
They have played almost half of their matches in the league and lost more than half of those. Hellraisers were ranked #11 in the first week. In week 2, they fell to #13. However, the last week made quite a difference, as Hellraisers have climbed to hold 9th place in the league.
Nevertheless, with a win rate of just 25%, and battles with top teams ahead of them, the future is none too bright for Hellraisers. We can suppose at this point all they can hope for is to rank in the top 12 which enables the team to qualify for the next season.
Na’Vi is currently struggling to find lady luck. The team has been displaying well across the competitive world, however, their recent results do not prove that. They finished the Eleague Premier campaign after getting knocked out in the group stages.
In the last match of the Eleague, it was Natus Vincere against G2 Esports, better known for the duel of superstars Oleksandr «s1mple» Kostyliev against Kenny «kennyS» Schrub, in a BO3 match.
On Cobblestone, the Ukrainian star kicked off and brought his team into the lead. The French, however, got up again. Everyone for team G2 Esports performed well and secured the first map.
Inferno was the last map for Na’Vi in the Eleague. The comeback was started with only three rounds after the side change.
In particular, KennyS grew beyond himself and left s1mple no chance. The match ended at 16-14 and the playoff qualification for G2. KennyS is currently not only the best AWP player in the world, but also the best overall player in the world.
This great form of KennyS could prove vital for the side in the ESL Pro League. They are currently dead last at 14th place in Europe. They lost their first series 2-0 to Heroic while tying the series 1-1 against Fnatic and NiP with very close results.
They will need more than just a good performance against Hellraisers.

The Danes from North (FC Counter-Strike Copenhagen) finished first in the group with two wins in two games. They first won against Fnatic (16-8) and then against the Brazilians of Immortals in a very exciting game (22-20). North ended the group stage in first place.
The Danes are on fire at the moment. They are the top team in the Eleague Premier, they recently won the DreamHack Montreal after an unbeaten campaign, and in the ESL Pro League they are currently 2nd, after 6 wins from 8 games played. They started their ESL campaign after a 1-1 draw against G2 Esports. However, they went on a 4-game winning streak after beating EnVyUs and NIP quite convincingly. Last week they dropped a map to HelllRaisers, possibly because of a very tight schedule. However, they will be confident facing the opposition.
The Eleague group B also includes the freshly crowned ESG Mykonos winner, mousesports. However, in the first encounter, they fell victim to team Immortals.
The Lower Bracket matches were the final shot for mousesports. The mice had to compete against Fnatic in a best-of-three. The Swedes defeated mousesports with a score 2-1 (16-5 train, 13-16 mirage, 16-13 cobblestone). This brought an end to the Eleague campaign for mousesports, and now they can concentrate on beating the Danes.
It will be an exciting match to see the Mykonos Champions vs the DreamHack Champions.
2-0 North
Match 1 winner: Mousesports 1.37 – 0.53 North
Match 2 winner: Mousesports 1.37 – 0.53 North
