Home I Betting Tips I eSports Tips I ESL Pro League Season 6 CS:GO
Here we are and the Playoffs of the ESL Pro League are just around the corner. Or rather, we are very close to knowing just which teams have qualified for the Playoffs.
This betting guide will cover a lot of action from the competitive world of CS:GO. A lot of those changes in the performance of the team are because of ‘mid-stream’ roster changes.
If you’re one of the betting fraternity, you’ll certainly be interested in which teams are doing best in this event. Especially if you’re looking to bet on one particular team to ‘reach the Finals’.
With 55 points, SK Gaming is now leading the League Ladder, and have qualified for the Playoffs. This means it doesn’t matter if they win or lose their two remaining matches. In week 6, SK Gaming went up against Ghost Gaming and Rogue, winning every single match.
OpTic Gaming also has qualified for the Playoffs, and they still have 4 more matches to play. With 48 points and 16 wins out of 22 matches, OpTic is the second team to qualify for this event. They went up against Counter Logic Gaming in week 6, where they won one and lost one match. They still have a match with SK Gaming ahead of them.
Now let’s have a look at the matchups where teams are competing to claim best spots.
Rogue, along with Ghost Gaming, has no chance to win to the Playoffs. However, the teams playing against them in week 7 are likely to climb over them to higher rankings on the League Ladder.
Rogue currently sits at 13th place in the ESL Pro League, with 12 points after 15 losses and 5 wins. They only have a 23% winning percentage and are currently on a two-game losing streak. They have only won the series against struggling Ghost Gaming and Immortals, but they are dead last and only one place above Rogue, respectively. So Rogue will have a tough battle against the newly crowned champions of SL i-League Invitational Shanghai.
The composition of the Australian organization Renegades defeated HellRaisers in the semi-final match of the playoff SL i-League Invitational Shanghai. The score of the match was 2-1. Thus, the team from Australia became the rival of Virtus.Pro in the finals, where they emerged victorious with a score of 2-0. Renegades received $75,000 for the win, while the Virtus.Pro «bears» got the amount of $35,000.
Renegades still have six matches to play and could possibly score another 18 points in the ESL. This is more than enough to qualify for the main events. But with a win-rate of just 44% that doesn’t seem too likely. However, they will surely win against Rogue, which might pave the way for Finals.
Astralis showed an astonishing amount of resilience in the first semifinal to continue past C9 in the $1 million tournament. The match ended 2-1 with the stars of Denmark on top, as the map sequence was Mirage, Overpass, and Inferno.
This loss was just the thing needed to inspire C9 to become an unstoppable force in the past month.
Cloud9 overtook SK Gaming in the North American ECS standings by winning five of their last six online matches. They are currently ranked first with a 12-2 win-loss record at 36 points. Their victories over Luminosity Gaming, CLG, and Ghost Gaming put SK in second place. Jake “Stewie2k” Yip and Will “RUSH” Wierzba were some huge components in their consecutive best-of-one wins over Ghost and CLG. They averaged 24 and 27 tops frag stats, respectively.
Cloud9 is back in the game for now. They are ranked 5th with 35 points. Cloud9 won three out of four matches played in week 6, but they were not able to win a match against Renegades, which cost them 3 points. With 6 more matches to play, there is still a chance to qualify. The team has a 62% win-rate, which is a good sign.
The team compLexity Gaming became the first known participants in the playoffs at the Americas Minor Championship — Boston 2018. Team Liquid took first place in the group, defeating Team One (16-5 @ de_cobblestone) and NRG (16-5 @ de_inferno).
After losing to Misfits in the semifinals, Team Liquid made a quick losers-bracket run, defeating compLexity Gaming and CLG in the process. Their victory over CLG gave them the final qualifier spot for the major. Moreover, it also put them in the finals of the minor, where they exacted vengeance for their 2-1 series loss to Misfits. They absolutely dominated map two, Train, 16-4 and map three, Mirage, 16-7 to earn the No. 1 seed and put Misfits into the number 2 spot.
Team Liquid now ranks third with 42 points. In week 6, they fought in six matches, winning five of them. Team Liquid was – oddly enough – defeated by Immortals. This was a serious loss of three points and could lead to them missing the top 6. They still have four matches left to play, and with a 73% win rate, could well win them all. Cloud 9 might be in fine form, however, Liquid is quite dominant in the ESL Pro League.
