The first DotA 2 Minor was exciting to watch, as we finally saw some of the best teams in the world. Team Secret continued with great form, the Chinese teams disappointed, and Na’Vi slowly returned.
Finally, Mineski is credited with the title of the dark horse of the tournament. However, Team Liquid was once again a level above everyone and managed to take home the first title of the new season.
Team Liquid happens to be the winners of The International and conquerors of six tournaments in the past year. They have again proved that they are the best DotA 2 team in the world.
As expected, Team Liquid went through the group stages without major problems. They won against Mineski and SG e-sports, but they were not the teams we would expect to surprise Team Liquid.
In the semifinals, their opponent was the side of Team Secret. Clement «Puppey» Ivanov and the team are arguably one of the best European teams. However, no matter what they did, they could not win. They had strong leadership, worked good rotations, but they could not escape from their fate in the Star Ladder.
Regardless of the backdrop, Team Liquid always had a way out and a way to win. Their opponents could not make up for their trivial mistakes, with their opposition making the most of it.
In the end, the final scorecard was 2-0 in favor of Liquid and the TI winners were in the final. In the second semi-final match, Mineski surprisingly managed to beat compLexity, who were considered the favorites. Mineski won with a 2-1 score to secure their first competitive final.
The side of Mineski had a great opening to the final match. They won on all lanes and slowly made the lead. In the middle of the match Team Liquid took the game by storm. However, since they had Earthshaker, Pugna, Jakiro, and Ember Spirit when the opponents finally bought Black King Bars, the story ended.
Anucha «Jabz» Jirawong from the Mineski team played great. He had the assistance of Chai «Mushi» Yee Fung and Daryl Koh «iceiceice» Pei Xiang. The side managed to close the match and paved the way for the first defeat at the tournament forTeam Liquid.

Then Team Liquid woke up. Kuro «KuroKy» Salehi Takhasomi drafts better than any player in the world. Amer «Miracle-» Al-Barqawi got Terrorblade and Ivan Borislavov «MinD_ContRoL» Ivanovl got Furion and a lane setup to wreak havoc on their opponents. This made Team Liquid the winners of the second game of the series.

The final match was a show by Maroun «GH» Merhej, who received the Keeper of the Light. This hero is generally banned for him. Mineski tried to answer with Alchemist, but it was not enough.
Team Liquid showed that they are a confident side and they are determined on going to The International next year. The question is, how will they react to the upcoming changes in the game?
The next tournament on the DotA Pro Circuit is the PGL Open in Bucharest. There will not be a chance to watch Team Liquid. However, you can see the best teams which include Evil Geniuses, LGD Gaming, Immortals, Infamous, Team Secret, Na’Vi, Mineski, and VGJ.Thunder.
